When my grandmother died she had left a request to have her ashes scattered in Llangynyw, mid-Wales, where her husband was buried.  It is a very beautiful place with ancient yews, Welsh hillsides with sheep grazing gently. Her children could not bear for her to be apart from her husband, so they buried her ashes.  I mourned the fact that she was not scattered into the fresh air of the Welsh hills as much as I mourned her death. I often thought of digging her up and scattering her, but was too afraid of being caught.
